Mission:

Delta Dental of Illinois' mission is to provide exceptional services to our stakeholders and improve the oral health of the communities we serve.

Our stakeholders include dentists, employer groups, subscribers, brokers and our employees.

History:

Delta Dental is by far the largest and most experienced dental benefits carrier in the country - making us larger than the next two largest carriers combined. Delta Dental member companies provide dental coverage to over 54 million people in 95,700 groups nationwide.

Delta Dental of Illinois is one of 39 independently operated member companies of the Delta Dental Plans Association and has been in business since 1967.

Illinois Dental Service (IDS) was granted a charter as a not-for profit corporation in 1967. Under this Act, IDS was authorized to establish dental care plans for residents of Illinois, operating under the supervision of the Illinois Department of Insurance. The name Illinois Dental Service was changed to Delta Dental Plan of Illinois in 1984, and to Delta Dental of Illinois in 2004.

Delta Dental of Illinois offers true single-site administration from its Naperville, Illinois headquarters. Delta Dental of Illinois provides seamless, uniform single-site administration for its numerous Illinois-based clients. All administrative and client services including:

claims processing
customer service
network management
financial reporting
eligibility maintenance
claim review
underwriting
billing
account management

are provided by Delta Dental of Illinois from its Naperville Service Center.
