Delta Dental has three nationwide dental networks. When you join one of Delta Dental's network in any state, you become part of Delta Dental's national network of dentists and are a member of Delta Dental networks in every state.

Delta Dental is by far the largest and most experienced dental benefits carrier in the country, covering one out of every four Americans with dental insurance. And we offer the largest network of dentists in the state and nation with 70% of dentists in Illinois and 75% of dentists nationwide participating in our networks.

Delta Dental offers two fee-for-service networks - a PPO network, Delta Dental PPO and a managed fee-for-service network, Delta Dental Premier. Delta Dental also offers a dental HMO, DeltaCare DHMO.

Delta Dental of Illinois is the only dental carrier that offers a managed fee-for-service network that works in conjunction with our PPO network to offer a "safety net" for out-of-network coverage. It is called Delta Dental Premier. Seven out of ten dentists nationwide and three out of four in Illinois participate in the network.

Delta Dental of Illinois offers a creative, yet affordable benefit program for Illinois-based companies seeking to offer their employees a full range of covered dental services in the state. It is called the Delta Dental PPO, and it's our PPO plan. It combines freedom of choice with cost-savings incentives for subscribers.

Our DHMO network, DeltaCare, offers employers a cost effective benefit program and offers participating dentists numerous benefits as well.

Recent studies show that employees expect employers to provide dental benefits, in part because more employers do. Enrollment in Delta Dental plans nearly doubled from 1989 to 2000. Surveys have also indicated that dental coverage is the second most popular benefit in compensation packages, next only to medical insurance.

As dentists likely know, having dental benefits entices more people to visit the dentist. You can't deny the power of 46 million enrollees, all looking for in-network dentists.

Delta Dental encourages covered employees to visit the dentist and stresses the importance of using a dentist who participates in a Delta Dental network. We promote preventive care and also stress the cases where oral health is linked with chronic problems such as cardiovascular disease or diabetes.

At Delta Dental of Illinois, we have a Professional Relations team dedicated to network dentists. Our Professional Relations team works closely with network dentists, and often solicits their feedback. We communicate with network dentists a variety of ways, including office visits, newsletters and seminars to ensure we're not only meeting, but exceeding their expectations.

The Professional Relation team at Delta Dental of Illinois is committed to developing opportunities that improve the membership value we offer dentists who participate in our network. As part of this commitment, we offer several value-added services such as discounts on spore testing and free electronic claim submissions. We also offer annual courses that qualify for continuing education credits.

We provide access to practicing dental consultants and preeminent dental educators for review of difficult or denied cases.

The Dentist Connection and our automated phone system allows dentists and their staff to access benefits, eligibility and claim information 24 hours a day. Dentists and staff can also get eligibility and benefit information faxed to them through our "fax back" automated faxing capability. Our world-class customer service staff is available to quickly and accurately answer questions. And claims are processed quickly and accurately.
