2006 LINCOLN SILVER AWARD
- Award Recognizes Continuous Quality Improvement -
LISLE, IL - December 7, 2006 - Delta Dental of Illinois (DDIL) received the prestigious 2006 Lincoln Silver Award for Progress Towards Excellence during ceremonies Wednesday, December 6, at Tellabs, Inc., in Naperville. Only six Illinois companies earned this award for 2006.
LISLE, IL - December 7, 2006 - Delta Dental of Illinois (DDIL) received the prestigious 2006 Lincoln Silver Award for Progress Towards Excellence during ceremonies Wednesday, December 6, at Tellabs, Inc., in Naperville. Only six Illinois companies earned this award for 2006.

Winners of the Lincoln Silver Award must demonstrate "sound and notable continuous improvement processes." The awards are presented by the Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence, a non-profit organization backed by both private and public funding. The Foundation seeks to help Illinois organizations continuously improve their performance by encouraging, developing and highlighting excellence using the Criteria for Performance Excellence from the Baldrige National Quality Program. DDIL submitted an application earlier in the year and a team of Lincoln Examiners conducted a week-long site visit to clarify and verify the contents of their application in seven categories: 1) Leadership, 2) Strategic Planning, 3) Customer and Market Focus, 4) Measurement, Analysis, and Knowledge Management, 5) Human Resource Focus, 6) Process Management, and 7) Results.

"It is rare for an organization to progress from Bronze, which we earned in 2005, to Silver status in one year.
