Dentists Added to Delta Dental Plan of Illinois
Network in Peoria Area

July 12, 2004, Lisle, IL - Delta Dental Plan of Illinois added eight new dentists to its DeltaPremier managed fee-for-service network in the Peoria area.  Three additional dentists are pending and are expected to join the network by the end of summer.

Of the eight dentists, four are endodontists in Peoria, three are general dentists in Peoria and one is a general dentist in Dunlap.  Of the additional pending three dentists, one is an oral surgeon and two are general dentists.  The oral surgeon will be working predominately in Dunlap, but will also work in East Peoria.

Delta Dental Plan of Illinois has always had a serious commitment to recruiting in the Peoria area. However, with the addition of Network Administrator Pam Woolsey, a Peoria area resident, that commitment has recently paid off.

"I worked very closely with the Peoria District Dental Society first to understand the concerns of the dentists in the area before going to the dental offices directly.  I helped them understand Delta Dental and our networks," said Woolsey.  "Then, I literally went office-to-office explaining Delta Dental's programs and the benefits of network membership."

Woolsey's persistence paid off.  Not only did she sign more dentists to Delta Dental Plan of Illinois' networks, area dentists are calling her to see what's new with Delta Dental. 

Woolsey also worked very closely with Maple Shade Dental Group in Dunlap. Three of the 11 dentists who are joining Delta Dental Plan of Illinois' networks are from Maple Shade Dental Group which has three practices; the main practice is in Dunlap and the other two are in East Peoria and Princeville. Delta Dental Plan of Illinois is the only network of which the practice is a member.

A listing of the eight new dentists is below. All are located in Peoria with the exception of Dr. Reza Vakili.
